ABA at Home
Topaz ABA provides home-based applied behavior analytic (ABA) services to children and adolescents with developmental and behavioral disorders, such as autism spectrum disorder. ABA provides individuals with ongoing and individualized programming to promote skills that support their independence in all areas of development. In-home ABA will directly target inappropriate behaviors in the setting where they occur the most: at home! Session times are flexible based on family’s needs, and can be held during the week and/or on weekends. During therapy sessions, ABA therapists will target:
- maladaptive behaviors (tantrums, non compliance, running away, aggression, etc.)
- tolerance (accepting “no”, waiting, transitions)
- communication skills
- safety skills
- social skills
- Independent living skills (e.g., executive functioning, problem solving, etc.)
- eating (e.g., food selectivity, using utensils, sitting at the table)
- play and leisure skills
- self-help skills (dressing, toileting, chores, etc.)
- gross & fine motor skills
- imitation skills
- parent education and training
- compliance/listening skills
- coping skills & techniques
- self stimulatory behaviors (vocal stereotypy, rocking, flapping hands, etc.)
