  Topaz ABA provides home-based applied behavior analytic (ABA) services to children and adolescents with developmental and behavioral disorders. ABA provides individuals with ongoing and individualized programming to promote skills that support their independence in all areas of development. In-home ABA will directly target inappropriate behaviors in the setting where they occur the most: at home! Session times are flexible based on family’s needs, and can be held during the week and/or on weekends. During therapy sessions, ABA therapists will target:

- inappropriate behaviors (tantrums, non compliance, running away, aggression, etc.)

-self stimulatory behaviors (vocal stereotypy, rocking, flapping hands, etc.)

-communication skills

-safety skills

-social skills

-eating (e.g., food selectivity, using utensils, sitting at the table)

-play and leisure skills

-self-help skills (dressing, toileting, chores, etc.)

-gross & fine motor skills

-parent education and training

-tolerance (accepting “no”, waiting)

-compliance/listening skills

-coping techniques

 Topaz ABA provides community-based applied behavior analytic (ABA) services to children and adolescents with developmental and behavioral disorders. Community locations vary based on each individual child. Some examples of community locations include: daycares, recreational classes, team sports, stores, parking lots, playgrounds, or any other location where your child’s developmental disorder is affecting their ability to participate or be independent. During community-based therapy sessions, ABA therapists will target:-compliance & listening skills-social and group skills-Safety skills -awareness of their environment-independence & inclusion-problem solving -communication-inappropriate behaviors-navigating novel environments & people

We include parents in every part of the program, from start to finish. We want to prioritize your own family’s needs and target skills that are functional to your child’s individual life. Parent training and education occurs in two ways at Topaz ABA. First, daily observations and direct involvement with your child’s therapy sessions. ABA therapists will demonstrate and teach you how to work with your child so that results are seen across all people and environments, not just during therapy sessions. Second, your BCBA will meet regularly with parents, educating them on the principles of ABA and how they can utilize interventions appropriately and accurately. Your BCBA will guide you in how to prevent behaviors, and how to teach appropriate replacement behaviors.
